SAN ANTONIO – A suspect wanted in connection with the murder of a 14-year-old boy has died three days after shooting himself in the head.
On Monday, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that 20-year-old Caesar Tijerina had died from his injuries.
According to various sources, 20-year-old Caesar Tijerina was on the run and hiding out in Laredo when police started closing in on his location.

Loredo Police then responded to calls for an attempted suicide call around 4 a.m. on Friday near the corner of Palmito and Soria Drive in Laredo.
When police arrived, Tijerina was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was placed on life support and transported to University Hospital in San Antonio, where he died on Monday.
This stems from four months ago, when on April 16, 14-year-old Simon Cuevas was followed by five suspects, who began attacking him, before a suspect fired a gunshot into his stomach, killing him.
Police have accused 18-year-old Fernando of being the one who pulled out the gun and fired the fatal shot.
This is a developing story.
