A two-alarm fire broke out Monday at a commercial building under construction at 8800 Grossmont Center Drive in La Mesa. The structure, located in the same shopping center as Hobby Lobby and Ross Dress for Less, was reportedly set to house new TJ Maxx and Ulta Beauty stores.
Firefighters responded swiftly and are actively working to contain the blaze. No injuries have been reported at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
