The last long weekend of the summer is coming up, and while many folks might be heading to the beach or for day trips to escape San Antonio, the city still offers lots to do over the Labor Day holiday. Here’s what to add to your list that’s a little more off the beaten trail and won’t break the bank — no Labor Day parades or crowded holiday events here.
Farewell party for Pat O’Brien’s
New Orleans bar and restaurant Pat O’Brien’s is hosting one final hurrah for its San Antonio location. The beloved chain known for serving up NOLA classics, such as the iconic hurricane drink, announced on August 14 that it would close in the Alamo City at the end of August. But the River Walk staple won’t go out without a bang, as there is a three-day celebration taking place over Labor Day weekend. From noon to 2 a.m. on Friday, August 29, through Sunday, August 31, Pat O’Brien’s will be hosting its farewell bash featuring live music, DJ sets, dueling pianos, karaoke and more.
