The San Antonio Zoo announced that 20,000 complimentary tickets, valued at over half a million dollars, were donated to those affected by the deadly floods that overtook Texas Fourth of July weekend.
2. For the 3rd time this year, LGBTQ+ advocates rally against a bathroom bill
Texas lawmakers are debating the latest iteration of a bill that would place bathroom restrictions based on sex assigned at birth, a proposal that Republicans have tried to pass since 2015.
3. Battery power storage sees sharp increase in Texas
Keeping the lights on in Texas has been the state’s focus since the deadly freeze in 2021. Since then, companies and Texas’ grid operator have found renewable routes to make sure Texans don’t stay in the dark.
