JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (CBS12) — A 24-year-old Jacksonville man is behind bars after his mother was found stabbed to death inside her home.
On Saturday, deputies with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) were called to a home on Peach Drive, where they located a 55-year-old suffering from stab wounds.
Upon arrival, deputies say the victim, later identified as Lilian Ochoa-Menjivar, succumbed to her injuries inside the home.

The Homicide Unit, District 2 Patrol, and the Crime Scene Unit immediately launched an investigation upon the Medical Examiner’s Office ruling her death a homicide.
After an investigation, detectives say they identified the victim’s son, 24-year-old Hector Munoz-Ochoa, as the main suspect in the case.
Detectives say they later booked Munoz-Ochoa for his mother’s murder. He is currently being held in the Duval County Jail.
