COLLEYVILLE – Gerald “Jerry” Elwin Parker, 85, passed away on August 21, 2025. Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suites C & D, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Funeral/Celebration of Life: 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2025, in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76017. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park immediately following the funeral service. Born in Batavia, New York, Jerry was raised on his family’s dairy farm with his brother and three sisters. At the age of 17, he left the farm and answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy. Following his military service, Jerry moved to Denton, Texas, where he attended North Texas State University. It was there he met the love of his life, Donna Rose. After graduating from college, Jerry and Donna married and settled in the Fort Worth area where they began building a life together. They welcomed their son, Thane, and five years later, their daughter, Jill. While in Fort Worth, Jerry went to work for General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin) where he spent a 40+ year career in defense aviation working on the F-111, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-22 Raptor, and the F-35 Fighter programs. Jerry was a proud, life-long member of the Lake Worth Masonic Lodge in Fort Worth, Texas where he held many leadership positions and proudly mentored countless other Masons throughout his life. His life was defined by devotion to his family, to his country and to the values of hard work and integrity he carried with him from the farm to the Navy and beyond. Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Rose; parents, Delos Winslow and Leona Beatrice; brothers, Kenneth Delos and Donald Robert; sister-in-law, Gertrude Mary Margret; brothers-in-law, Harold Laverne Green, and Donald Arthur Meyers Sr. He is survived by his son, Thane Delos and wife, Vera Jordana; daughter, Jill Parker Gilbey, husband, Jack Goetz and grandson, Henry Parker; sisters, Evelyn Barbara Green, Norma Ruth Meyers, and Gloria Mabel Parker; brother-in-law, Gary Clark Sumeriski; and numerous nieces, nephews and family members.
