A New York man wanted on kidnapping and sexual assault charges was arrested in Rutland on Monday, according to police.The Rutland City Police Department said they found Richard Collier of Schenectady near Allen and Mussey streets on Monday. Collier initially gave officers a false name before trying to run away from them. Officers detained him after a brief foot chase and took him into custody. They later found more than 20 grams of cocaine in his possession.Collier has been lodged at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility and appeared in court on Tuesday afternoon. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was ordered held without bail until his next court appearance in September.
