A double shooting in Juniata Park on Monday night has caused neighbors to call for the city to implement safety measures that will deter crime in their residential area.

The shooting, which took place in the 4000 block of Claridge Street at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, 2025, left two men injured,

Evidence markers were seen throughout the day in the alley between Claridge and Howell streets, which is just feet away from an elementary school.

Surveillance video exclusively shared with NBC10 shows two men being dropped off at Luzerne Street.

And then two minutes later, the two men open fire on two more men at the 4000 block of Claridge Street.

The two men are then picked up in the same car they were dropped off in at Luzerne Street.

“They sell drugs and it is like a drive through. It’s like non-stop. You don’t know when the next time is going to happen,” a concerned citizen, who wanted to remain anonymous out of fears of retaliation, said of the area.

The concerned citizen said neighbors heard around a dozen gunshots as they were getting ready for bed.

“I even got a conceal, because that’s how worried I am now. I’m scared to go out with my wife,” the concerned citizen said.

The concerned citizen says neighbors want to see more action and measures put into place from Philadelphia officials to curb crime before an innocent bystander becomes a fatal victim in the violence.

“We need cameras live on Howell and Claridge and L Street,” the concerned citizen said. “Those three streets. Visible. And in between the houses, put out more lights. Brighter lights, so that everybody can be seen. More police.”

The two injured in the shooting were taken to the hospital and Philadelphia Police are investigating the incident.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with any information on either incident is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or anonymously online here.
