COMBINE – William Raymond Bartula, 78, passed away on August 16, 2025. Memorial Service: 12 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025, in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. William was born on April 14, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas, to parents, Augustus and Lois Bartula. He attended Carter Riverside High School, class of 1965. He married Glenda Lee Tate on June 2, 1978. Together, they had two children, Marcia and Ryan. He served in the Vietnam War in the first infantry division of the U.S. Army, better known as “The Big Red One.” He later worked for MKT Railroad. Though he retired from the railroad, he went on to work for MR Communications, Crown Correctional Telephones, and Sterling Commissary before officially retiring in 2022. In his free time, William loved fishing, NASCAR, enjoyed casinos, old black and white westerns, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and anything family related. William was preceded by his parents, Augustus and Lois Bartula; and sister, Edith Hardwick. He is survived by his children, Marcia Lane (Bill) of Azle, Texas, and Ryan Bartula (Shauna) of Clifton, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah Deheck, John Lane, Blythe Muenster, William Lane, Keegan Sowder, Will Bartula, Taylor Bakouris, and Cordale Bakouris; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, David Bartula (Beverly), Larry Bartula, and Don Bartula (Becky); and numerous nieces and nephews.
