Have you ever met a Zaxbys fan?

They’re all around us, extolling the Atlanta-based chicken brand. These evangelists will talk to you about Nibblerz (mini chicken sandwiches), Zax Sauce (a creamy, tangy, spiced concoction) and crinkle-cut fries — and insist it’s not like other chicken brands. And if they live in Dallas-Fort Worth, they probably already know that Zaxbys has been expanding in recent years in the Lone Star State.

The newest D-FW store is slated to open on Sept. 1 in Fort Worth. Located at 5384 Sycamore School Road, the 3,000-square-foot Zaxbys store will bring with it 40 dine-in seats and a drive-through. For those looking for even easier access to the brand’s signature chicken tenderz or fried pickles, customers can use the Zaxbys app to order ahead or to pick up food. Zaxbys will also be featured on delivery platforms.

If you’re in Dallas, you might be wondering where the closest Zaxbys is to you. While there isn’t a brick-and-mortar store in Dallas proper yet, Zaxbys has opened its first-ever ghost kitchen on Commerce Street in West Dallas. Customers can get chicken tenders across Dallas, in Uptown, Deep Ellum, downtown and even at Southern Methodist University, according to Fast Casual. Orders can be placed through the Zaxbys app and delivery platforms, such as DoorDash and Uber Eats.

Zaxbys opened its first Texas location in Mansfield back in 2008. It’s slowly added locations across the state since then, focused mainly on suburban locales, including outposts in Keller and Richardson.

There’s also a store in Prosper on the way. It’s part of a larger expansion, with Zaxbys eyeing between 100 and 150 units in D-FW, according to a report from the Dallas Business Journal.
