A dip in temperatures will offer relief from the heat to Southern California as parts of the region face the possibility of showers thanks to a tropical storm to the south.
“Because we’ve got the clouds around and a little bit of a tropical connection, temperatures will be a touch cooler,” said NBC4 Meteorologist Melissa Magee.
As Tropical Storm Juliette takes aim for Baja California in Mexico, the Southland will experience a brief break from the hot temps.
“The outer rain bands of what is still Tropical Storm Juliette is out in the Pacific,” Magee said. “As this works its way up to the north, we’re just going to be dealing with some remnant moisture as we head into later on tonight and even into our Thursday, but that moisture will be on the way.”
Although nearly all of the region will experience high clouds, eastern Los Angeles County, the Inland Empire and Orange County will be most susceptible to rain.
“I think everybody is fair game but these locations, we’re watching closely tomorrow,” Magee said.
The moisture is expected to be short-lived and is forecast to be out of the region by Friday. Temperatures will gradually climb again as the weekend progresses – just in time for the Labor Day holiday.
