PHOENIX — A man in his 50s was placed in a burn center with critical injuries Thursday as a result of a Phoenix house fire, authorities said.
Crews responded to the home near 35th and Dunlap avenues around 6 p.m., where they located the man, who was not immediately identified, in a bedroom on the rear end of the house.
They were able to get him out of the house, but not before he suffered “significant burns,” according to the Phoenix Fire Department. He was the only person in the home at the time of the fire.
The fire apparently started in a master bedroom that didn’t have working smoke detectors, authorities said.
