A new golf complex is teeing up in Boerne that might take country club camaraderie into the 21st century. Inside 9 Golf, coming to the Napa Oaks Shopping Center at 27650 I-10 #207, promises 24/7 virtual game play in a comfortable indoor social club, no matter how sweltering the Hill Country gets.
Inside 9 will boast Golfzon simulators, which use both augmented and virtual reality technologies to render realistic greens and the simulated sensation of driving and putting. To make the experience more immersive, the South Korean company builds in hydraulic swing plates that can mimic dozens of terrains golfers might find on an actual course.
The simulators allow Inside 9 members to compete in leagues and play in worldwide tournaments. But the biggest advantage over traditional courses may be that golfers will no longer have to fetch their balls. Tees pop up automatically after each shot, programmed to each individual player’s preferred height.
At only 2,859 square feet, Inside 9 will not have hundreds of acres, which means no roving beverage carts. The club will take care of libations by providing liquor lockers that can be stocked with Laguvulin 11-year Scotch or Buzzballz Biggies.
Members will also get access to shared office space and an entertainment lounge, but the company has not yet advertised its membership rates. A wait list is available for those interested in jumping in sight unseen, but Inside 9 is only teasing the concept for now.
“Inside 9 is more than golf — it’s a private, tech-driven lifestyle club blending sport, business, and leisure,” the business said in a social media introduction that may or may not have been written by AI.
The social club has shared an opening date just yet, but recently filed project details at the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation say the buildout aims to finish by May 2026. Timelines are subject to change with construction delays and other hiccups.
Inside 9 joins a growing list of indoor sports complexes opening in the San Antonio area. Although none cite climate change as a reason for their proliferation, scorching temps are likely playing a role in their sudden development. Among the upcoming projects bringing air-conditioned amenities to Alamo City are soccer-themed beer garden Pitch 25, Taiwanese baseball center Toroko Sports, and pickleball hub Outlaw Pickle.
