Deadly crash shuts down Phoenix intersection at 31st and Southern avenues

PHOENIX — A deadly crash has shut down the intersection of 31st and Southern avenues in Phoenix on Thursday morning.

Police say the crash happened around 3:15 a.m. Both drivers were taken to the hospital with injuries.

One of the drivers died from his injuries, and the other has non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area while crews are on scene.

There is no estimate on when the intersection will reopen.
