We 🖤 Our Readership – Big News Coming Soon, Stay Tuend!

The Los Angeles Children’s Chorus (LACC) is launching its milestone 40th season this September, marking four decades of shaping young voices and inspiring audiences around the world.

Founded in 1986 to perform the children’s chorus in Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem, LACC has grown into a GRAMMY Award-winning organization, now serving more than 400 young people across seven ensembles and two introductory singing classes. The program welcomes singers as young as six and supports them through age 18, with many participants dedicating over a decade to the choir.

Over the years, LACC has toured internationally, collaborated with leading orchestras and artists, and pioneered programs like the Young Men’s Ensemble, designed to support singers with changing voices. The organization remains committed to providing world-class music education while fostering a lifelong love of choral singing.

This season begins with the All Choir Orientation on Saturday, September 6, where new and returning families will meet directors, tour the Pasadena Presbyterian Church campus, and prepare for the year ahead.

LACC also continues to expand opportunities for the youngest singers through its First Experiences in Singing class, now offered in a year-long format for first and second graders. The program introduces students to vocal technique, rhythm, and melody through folk songs, games, and sight-reading exercises.

Alongside educational programs, the chorus will present a diverse lineup of performances this season. Highlights include:

At the close of the 2024–25 season, LACC honored two long-serving board members, Jena Liddy and Beth Fagan, both proud alumni parents whose children collectively sang with the chorus for 23 seasons.

For the 2025–26 season, LACC welcomes new board member Joanna Shing, along with recently appointed members Adam Feinstein, Patricia Han, and Jamie Kidwell. They join returning board members Dete Meserve (Chair), Tanvir Gopal (Vice Chair and Chair of the Development Committee), Corina Madilian (Secretary), Tracey Mitchel-Lai (Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee), Annabel Raymond (Chair of the Governance Committee), Henry Chang, Steve Deschenes, Patrick Garcia, James Muhammad (Chair of the Audit Committee), Meghan Umber, and Elizabeth Voxman.

Together, the board provides vital leadership and guidance as the organization celebrates its 40th season and looks toward the future.

With a new season of performances, classes, and community engagement, LACC continues its mission of uplifting young voices and ensuring access to high-quality music education across Los Angeles.
