Michael Longfellow, a graduate of ASU, is reportedly not returning to “Saturday Night Live” for the upcoming season.
PHOENIX — A “Saturday Night Live” cast member from Arizona is reportedly not returning to Studio 8H for the show’s 51st season.
Michael Longfellow, a graduate of Arizona State University, is apparently leaving the long-running sketch comedy show, according to reports from Deadline and Variety.
Longfellow joined the SNL cast in 2022 and has been part of the show for the last three seasons. Two other cast members, Devon Walker and Emil Wakim, have recently announced they won’t be returning to SNL for the upcoming season.
Longfellow, who grew up in the Valley, appeared as himself in multiple Weekend Update segments throughout his tenure on the show. During the recent 50th season, Longfellow memorably dressed in all black for a musical sketch titled “Goth Kid on Vacation.”
Longfellow isn’t the first Arizona resident to make it on SNL. Former cast members Aidy Bryant and David Spade have roots in the Grand Canyon State.
