Officials are investigating a salmonella outbreak tied to eggs distributed in California and Nevada, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health said Thursday.

Country Eggs LLC, based in California, issued a recall of its large brown cage-free sunshine yolk eggs on Wednesday. The eggs were branded as Nagatoshi Produce, Misuho and Nijiya Markets with the code CA 7695 on the carton.

More than 95 people have been reported ill across 14 states, according to the FDA.

The eggs were distributed from Jun. 16, 2025, through July 9, 2025, in California and Nevada, according to officials. The eggs all have sell-by dates from July 1, 2025, through September 18, 2025.

Two Chubby Cattle restaurant locations in Little Tokyo and Rowland Heights provided a strong link between the illness and eggs, according to LA Public Health.

California has the most confirmed cases with 73. Illnesses have also been reported in 13 other states, including Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Minnesota, North Carolina, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington.

Symptoms of salmonella infection are Diarrhea, abdominal cramps or pain, fever, nausea, vomiting, headache, and body aches.
