California Highway Patrol officers were in pursuit of a high-speed reckless driving suspect in South Los Angeles on Thursday.
Newschopper4 was over the pursuit just before 11 p.m. as the suspected driver weaved dangerously through traffic on the 105 and 110 freeways.
The pursuit vehicle reached speeds of over 120 MPH on the highway.
The driver raced down surface streets before striking another vehicle and crashing near 84th Street and Figueroa Boulevard, according to the CHP.
The driver and passenger fled from the crash and hopped inside a white Mercedes vehicle just a few yards away. A second pursuit ensued.
Police continued to chase the vehicle as it made its way into the LAX airspace.
It’s unclear if any arrests were made.
