QUINCY (WGEM) – The Adams County Bicentennial Commission announced on Friday that The Beach Boys have canceled their performance for the finale event.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Beach Boys’ Concert, scheduled for September 6 at the Adams County Bicentennial Finale, has been cancelled,” the official statement from The Beach Boys management team read.
They said Gretchen Wilson and Montgomery Gentry will now perform in their place.
They said they were able to secure the new performers in the last 48 hours.
The commission said if you bought a ticket to see The Beach Boys, it will get you in to see Wilson and Montgomery Gentry. For more information, contact the AC200 Commission at adamsco200@adamscountyil.gov
You can purchase tickets here. They can also be purchased at all Liberty Bank locations, Quincy Hy-Vee stores, First Bankers Trust branches at 12th & Broadway in Quincy and in Mendon, as well as Farm & Home Supply in Quincy.
The finale event will take place on Sept. 6 at the Adams County Fairgrounds. The Adams County Bicentennial Commission said they will be celebrating 200 years of the county’s history, heritage and community.
The celebration begins at 11:00 a.m. and will feature a full day of free, family-friendly activities, including:
- Classic Car Show
- Face Painting and “Balloon Dude” Performances
- Quincy Children’s Museum Activities
- Vendors Market
- Military Expo
- Hall of Villages
- Live Music from Local Bands
- Performances by the U.S. Air Force Rock Band and the 144th U.S. Army Band
- Beer Garden & Food Vendors
- Evening Fireworks & Balloon Glow
