A Dallas police officer is facing an assault charge Friday after his arrest by Terrell police, the department said in a news release.
Officer Thomas Fury II is facing a charge of assault causing bodily injury involving family violence, a Class A misdemeanor.
It was not immediately clear whether Fury, 31, had an attorney. Attempts to reach him for comment on Friday morning were unsuccessful.
The circumstances of the arrest were not immediately clear. A spokesperson for Terrell police did not provide additional information by Friday morning.

Fury was off-duty during the alleged incident and his arrest, Corbin Rubinson, a Dallas police spokesperson, said in a statement.
Fury was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation, the department said in the release.
Fury joined the department in May 2019, earning his Texas peace officer license that November, according to state records. He is currently assigned to the city’s Southeast Patrol Division, which spans parts of South Dallas, Oak Cliff and Pleasant Grove.
