Leonard “Wayne” Finney, 83, of Watauga, TX, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025. Born on November 27, 1941 in Lampasas, TX. Wayne was the oldest child of Clarence and Susie Finney. He was a devoted Christian and a cherished member of his church. He found joy in reading the Bible, drawing strength and wisdom from his Baptist faith. Wayne was known for his storytelling. He could fill any room with laughter through his funny stories and quick wit. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Susie Finney; and brother Roy Finney. Wayne is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruby Finney; three daughters, Debra Sutton (husband Curtis) of Watauga, Donna Linamen (Husband Bobby) of Ft Worth, and Darla Stapleton of Southlake; three grandchildren, Katlin Finney (Wife Brittany), Destani Linamen, Karlee Sutton; and six great grandchildren; brother, Deorald Finney (wife Melodie) of Lampasas. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him. Funeral Service: 12 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in Mount Olivet Chapel.
