MINERAL CITY – Natural gas and electricity community choice aggregation is on the Nov. 4 general election ballot. Aspen Energy will hold an education session from 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Warren Township Community Center, 3986 New Cumberland Rd NE, to inform residents about what community choice aggregation is, how it works, and to answer questions.
Atwood Harvest Moon Regatta
SHERRODSVILLE − Atwood Yacht Club will hold the 75th annual Atwood Harvest Moon Regatta from Sept. 5-7 at Atwood Lake. This year’s regatta will feature competitive racing for Thistle, Highlander, MC Scow, and Cruising JAM Fleets. Awards will be presented Sept. 7. United Way fundraiser
NEW PHILADELPHIA − The United Way of Tuscarawas County will host its fifth annual Brews & Bites fundraiser from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 13 at Kent State Tuscarawas. The event will feature craft beer samplings from 10 breweries along with small bites, live music, a gift card pull, and games. Tickets available at www.tuscunitedway.org/events. Forestry group to discuss AI tools
DOVER − At the East Central Ohio Forestry Association meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 3, at the Dover Public Library, Sam Galloway will share a practical look at how artificial intelligence can support family forest owners in planning for the future. This session will highlight how AI tools can save time, serve as creative options, and help landowners preserve both the economic and conservation value of their fores

● The Dover Public Library is partnering with Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital to provide three programs to help participants lead a healthier lifestyle. Learn the Warning Signs of a Heart Attack will be Sept. 8. Spot a Stroke and BE FAST will be Oct. 6, and Control Your Cholesterol: Learn How Cholesterol Affects Your Heart Health will be Nov. 10, at the library. ● The Dover Public Library will host a walking tour at 5: 30 p.m. Sept. 5, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Participants will meet at Fourth & Faith and visit two stores and a taco truck to meet the owners and learn about their businesses.
● The Tuscarawas County Public Library System is looking for people interested in showcasing their sustainability skills or hobbies at its third annual Sustainable Living Faire in February. The deadline to apply to participate is Sept. 12. The event has featured vendors and programs ranging from curing meat, making goat milk soap, and growing herbs, to gardening, pollinators and timber.
