Don’t dare step on the stoop.
The hot and bothered owners of the posh West Village brownstone where Carrie Bradshaw “lived” in the original “Sex and The City” series have finally put up a gate to keep pesky tourists away.
Workers were seen installing and painting the cast-iron barrier Friday morning, as unfazed fans continued their daily descent to Perry Street for a snap of “Carrie’s stoop.”

Daniel and Barbara Lorber had pleaded with the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission for a gate in January, since the brownstone sits in Greenwich Village’s historic district.
Barbara Lorber, 80, had said she only let the immensely popular HBO show use her front steps in the ’90s because she felt bad for the young location scout at the time, and that she never could have imagined the daily chaos it would unleash on their lives — more than 20 years after the original series’ final episode aired.
“At the time, no one knew the show would turn into anything long lasting … much less, the iconic fantasy vehicle and touchstone for NYC’s magic that it has become,” she lamented.
The Lorbers bought the four-family building in 1979 for just $131,350, according to the deed — the equivalent of roughly $585,000 today.
They live on the ground level, and rent out three apartments, one on each floor of the brownstone.

They hired architect Isidoro Cruz to design the gate, which was built by Handco Welding, who’ve performed similar ironwork in the West Village.
Lorber declined comment when The Post rang the doorbell Friday.
