Bookies.com: Bet the Texans with the points vs Rams

Bill Speros writes: “Two conference championship contenders meet at SoFi Stadium. The Texans (11-8 and 8-9-2 ATS last season) won the AFC South but are still recovering – emotionally, at least – from their ‘we had it in the bag’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs. The Rams (10-7 and 11-8 last season) took the NFC West and bounced Minnesota in the Wild Card Round before coming up short 28-22 to the eventual Super Bowl champs in the Divisional Round. Cooper Kupp is gone, but the Rams plan to implement a high-octane offense around QB Matt Stafford, RB Kyren Williams, WRs Puka Nacua, and free-agent acquisition Davante Adams. … The Rams’ biggest concern remains stopping the run. So we know where Houston will be headed with the ball. Houston kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn just needs to keep it straight and through the uprights.”

The site’s formula predicts that the Texans will win the NFL Week 1 game against the Rams.

ESPN: Rams have a 56% chance to beat Texans on Sunday

Fansided: Rams 30, Texans 23

Lou Scataglia writes: “Could this be a fun, frisky Super Bowl matchup in 2025? Perhaps. Both Houston and LA have pieces of being a contender and both have what it takes to make an insanely deep run this season. I do trust the Rams’ coaching staff a bit more, and them being at home is also a factor here. LA wins by a touchdown.”
