Poker legends Linda Johnson, the “First Lady of Poker” and Hall of Famer, and Jan Fisher of the Ladies Poker Hall of Fame, will host the Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS Tour) Florida State Championship, running Thursday, Sept. 18, through Sunday, Sept. 21.

The Championship features women-only play, as well as a Kings & Queens tournament where the gents can get in on the poker action.

Founded in 2004, the LIPS Tour was established as a platform for women to learn, practice and excel at the game while forming lasting bonds and friendships while playing poker. It is the first, longest running, and most popular poker tour for women. The LIPS Tour is kicking off at bestbet Jacksonville at 201 Monument Road.

“I always look forward to the LIPS events at bestbet Jacksonville,” said Linda Johnson, First Lady of Poker and co-host of The LIPS Tour. “The management team is very supportive of women in poker and provides a great atmosphere to play poker. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned player, I’m sure you will enjoy the experience. It is always a pleasure to play at bestbet Jacksonville.”

With a full weekend of play, the championship kicks off with the $580 No-Limit Hold’em WPT Satellite on Thursday, Sept. 18. Winners receive a seat into the $5,000 WPT Jacksonville bestbet Scramble Championship Event on Nov. 14.

Friday, Sept. 19 features the $140 LIPS Warm Up and the LIPS Meet Up Game (MUG) $2-$5 NLH, broadcast on bestbetLIVE. The championship highlight is a Q&A session with the legendary tournament hosts, Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher, at 11 a.m. Sept. 20. The session is open to the public.

The $300 LIPS Championship will follow it. The LIPS Championship Final Table begins at noon Sunday, Sept. 21 and will be streamed on bestbetLIVE. After the Championship Final, men are invited to the table for the Kings & Queens $200 NLH event.

In addition to the winner, the Kings & Queen will award a last-longest trophy to the last man or woman left in the tournament. For tournament details, go to bestbetjax.com.

The LIPS Warm Up and Florida State Championship are ladies-only events; Kings & Queens is open to all. All events will allow unlimited re-entries within a registration period, and registration for the main event is open until the start of level nine.

Players must register in person at bestbet Jacksonville. Spectators are welcome during live-streamed matches. Guests will enjoy the comfortable atmosphere of bestbet, complete with a full menu of appetizers, breakfast all day, handhelds, fresh sushi and a full bar.
