SAN ANTONIO – A heartwarming reunion between an abused animal and the officer who saved her.
On Saturday, a heartwarming reunion took place between Daffodil, a dog who had been found abused and neglected, and ACS Officer Huff, who rescued her last August.
Daffodil, a Pitbull, was taken into an ACS shelter, where she was placed on the euthanasia list due to overoccupancy at the shelter.
Thankfully, Daffodil was adopted by Meredith and saved from the euthanasia list, able to live her life to the fullest.
“It’s been incredible. It’s so rewarding to know that there’s this full circle, you know, that somebody who saved her can now see how well she’s doing.”
She’s encouraging anyone looking for a new furry family member to consider adoption, and that some of the sweetest dogs can be from any breed.
“You know, all these dogs need is a chance,” said Meredith. “You know, sometimes they have a bad rep, but whether it’s their background or their breed, or whatever it may be, they just need a chance, and then they do really, really good when they get some love.”
Anyone interested in adopting a new pet can see all available animals on the San Antonio ACS website.
