SAN ANTONIO — As Labor Day weekend is in full force, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is cautioning drivers about the risks of driving under the influence.
Last summer, nearly 900 individuals were either killed or injured in DUI-related crashes. More than 300 of these incidents occurred during Labor Day, resulting in 10 fatalities and 36 injuries.
In response, law enforcement agencies are increasing the number of officers on patrol to deter drunk driving.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar issued a stern warning: “If you do take the chance and decide to drink and drive in my county, my agency will find you and we will arrest you,” he said.
