FORT WORTH – Melvin E. Burns, 92, passed August 28, 2025 peacefully at home. Visitation and Reception: 12 – 2 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2025 at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suites C and D, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., 76107. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Melvin E. Burns was born on April 12, 1933, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Ollie Benjamin Burns and Mary Ommie Patrick. He was one of four brothers , his brothers are; Wilburn Ray Burns (wife, Doris), Lee Roy Burns (wife, Saundra), and David Lynn Burns (wife, Janis). Melvin proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years during the Korean War, with his last assignment at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. On September 4, 1954, he married Nancy Ann Daughtry. The couple lived in Wichita Falls before moving to Fort Worth in 1957. They were married for 49 years until Nancy’s passing. Together, they raised two daughters: Rita Kay Seeholzer (husband, Wally) and Carol Marie Van Huss (husband, Curtis). On September 19, 2003, Melvin married Margie Marie Fleming in North Richland Hills. He became a loving stepfather to Margie’s three children: Doug Molden (wife, Darla), Kellie Molden, and Sandi Molden Keeney. A devout Christian, Melvin was a longtime member of Bethel Temple in Fort Worth. He was also a proud veteran, dedicated family man, and active community volunteer. Melvin worked at Process Engraving Co. before going into business with his brother, Lee Roy Burns, in 1973. Together, they owned and operated Burns Graphics until Melvin’s retirement in 2000. In retirement, he found joy in spending time with his family, serving as president of the Meadowbrook Senior Citizens Organization, and volunteering at the Tarrant County Food Bank. His faith, generosity, and dedication to others will be remembered by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie B. Burns and Mary Ommie Patrick; his wife of 49 years, Nancy Ann Daughtry; his brother, Lee Roy Burns; and his sister-in-law, Doris Dickerson Burns. He is survived by his Wife, Margie Burns; two daughters, Rita Kay Seeholzer and husband, Wally and Carol Marie Van Huss and husband, Curtis; Stepchildren, Doug Molden (wife, Darla), Kellie Molden, and Sandi Molden Keeney; four grandchildren, Toby Fuller and wife, Vilma Vani, Rachel Reed and husband, Charles Brian, Conrad Van Huss and Cameron Van Huss; and four step-grandchildren, Matthew Stowe, Timothy (TJ) Stowe, Dwayne Molden, and Debra Shinberg and husband, Jason.
