BURLESON – Jerry Wayne Patterson, 79, passed peacefully Friday, August 22, 2025, at home with family by his side. To honor Jerry’s life, his funeral service will be, 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2025 in Mount Olivet Chapel, 2301 North Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2025 in the Breyley Suite at Mount Olivet. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, 2301 North Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111. Jerry was born in Hugo, Oklahoma on March 1, 1946, moving to Sudan, Texas at an early age. He graduated from Sudan High School in 1964 before moving to Denver to attend trade school. During this time, he answered the call to serve, joining the Army. Upon his return, he moved to Fort Worth, meeting the love of his life, Betty Patterson, with whom he spent nearly 52 years building a life and family. Jerry began his career as a mechanic for White’s Automotive before moving on to become part of the Gateway Auto Supply family. He finished his career with O’Reilly Auto Parts and retired to become the primary caregiver for his wife, Betty. As one always willing to lend a helping hand, Jerry could often be found working on a friend or family’s car. He also enjoyed tending to his garden, taking road trips with his family, and spoiling his grandchildren. Jerry’s quiet demeanor and work ethic earned the respect of many as he provided an example for others to follow. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Patterson; parents, Hubert and Carrie Patterson; and brothers Larry and Charlie Epperson. He is survived by sons, Wayne Patterson and wife, Molly of Morrisville, North Carolina; Steven Patterson of Euless; daughter, Melissa Patterson of Burleson; grandchildren, Cristina, Tony, Nicholas, Gage and Garrett; great grandchildren, Xavier and Elizabeth; brother, Billy Joe of Calera, Oklahoma; sisters, Nancy Davis and husband, Russ of May and Linda Sue Cheek and husband, Rex of Weatherford; and many more loved ones.
