Police were attempting to piece together information from two pursuits on Sunday, in which an LAPD vehicle smashed into a restaurant in South Gate and a woman was arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto.
“Not sure how that (the arrest) happened or how they found her,” Officer Charles Miller of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Division told City News Service. “There was a lot happening.”
At about 7:15 a.m. Sunday, a police SUV was in pursuit of two burglary suspects in a gray Lexus in the area of Slauson and Santa Fe avenues, Miller said.
It was not immediately known when or where that pursuit was terminated, but the same LAPD SUV was involved in a crash with another vehicle in the area of Firestone Boulevard and Santa Fe Avenue in South Gate. The SUV crashed into Bobo’s Burgers at 2709 Firestone Blvd., and a woman was taken into custody on suspicion of grand theft auto.
Police had no description of the second suspect vehicle.
No officers were injured, Miller said, and no further information was immediately available.
