TBR Football can confirm that Gianluigi Donnarumma’s move to Manchester City is done, with the PSG goalkeeper joining the club on deadline day.

Despite signing James Trafford this summer, the Cityzens have decided to bring in the towering shot-stopper.

Donnarumma had also been linked to Manchester United, but it’s the blue side of Manchester where the Italian will be playing his football.

Exclusive: Gianluigi Donnarumma joins Man City, all details

Chief correspondent Graeme Bailey exclusively tells TBR Football that Donnarumma’s deal was completed on deadline day. The fee City will pay is around £25m on a five-year contract.

TBR Football can also confirm that Ederson’s deal to Fenerbahce is also done, with the Brazilian moving for £12m.

Bailey states: “Man City did not want to get into the territory of having Ederson after Monday and then waiting for him to complete, whilst also bringing in Gianluigi Donnarumma – it would just have been a bit messy.”

He also told TBR Football how the keeper felt about the move to the Etihad, as well as Pep Guardiola’s view:

“They have done the deal now, and I have to say City are delighted – they think they have just signed the best goalkeeper in the world for £25 million. Not quite bargain territory, but not far off. If you factor in the money from Ederson, they have paid just over £12m for a new keeper.

Pep Guardiola wanted Donnarumma. When the idea was floated, he made it clear – he was not at all worried about potential issues with footwork, etc. It wasn’t really a concern. They believe they have upgraded.”
