Michael Porter Jr. continues to talk about women this summer. First, MPJ admitted that women are his vice. Then he revealed Nikola Jokic’s farewell message to him was not to forget to wear a condom in his new NBA home city. Most recently, he talked about OnlyFans superstar Sophie Rain making $82 million in a year. Now, “Curious Mike” dropped a hot and controversial take on the WNBA.

Porter Jr. suggested that men and women are not created equal and that a very good high school boys’ basketball team would beat a WNBA All-Star squad, citing his own HS class as an example.

“If the WNBA All-Star team, if the Olympic team played the McDonald’s Boys All-American high school players, it’s one of them things, bro. You can’t dance around it,” Porter Jr. said. “At the end of the day, like in high school, when I was in high school, it was grown men. We were grown men, pretty much… Me, Trae Young, Deandre Ayton, Gary Trent, P.J. Washington. If we play the WNBA All-Star team, that’s uh… no disrespect, bro. No disrespect, bro…

The 2017 McDonald’s HS Game rosters had 15 NBA players

Porter Jr. played in the 2017 McDonald’s All-American game and was named MVP after scoring 17 points to lead the West Boys team to a 109-107 win. Aside from Deandre Ayton, Trae Young, and Gary Trent Jr., Jaren Jackson Jr. and Troy Brown Jr. were on his West team. Meanwhile, the East Boys roster included P.J. Washington, Mo Bamba, Wendell Carter Jr., Kevin Knox II, Nick Richards, Jared Vanderbilt, Collin Sexton, Lonnie Walker, and Mitchell Robinson.

With 15 players making it to the NBA, that 2017 Class had it all — size, athleticism, scoring, and defense. For starters, they have four seven-footers and a pair of 6’10” forwards. The group also had a DPOY winner, multiple All-Stars, and so on. Even if they were 18 at that time, the 2017 Class would have been a handful. But would they beat a WNBA team?

Rapper PlaqueboyMax, who hosted the stream, told MPJ he believes that the boys’ team would win by 10, but it would be a close game because of Caitlin Clark. Mike replied, “I’m not even going to say”, but based on his reaction, it looked like he wanted to say they were going to win by blowout. Still, Porter Jr. got roasted by fans on social media afterwards.

MPJ compared the WNBA to table tennis

Well, this isn’t the first time Porter Jr. has spoken against the WNBA and been bashed. Last year, he also caused a stir when he weighed in on the salary issue in the women’s league and compared them to ping-pong players, saying they shouldn’t be treated like the men as far as pay is concerned.

“I see it from both sides,” said Porter during his recent appearance on “The Pivot Podcast“. “I know these females want to get paid more, and they’re very talented. But so is a famous ping-pong player. So, as much as I understand females wanting the same treatment as male basketball players, it’s a different sport. They are not packing out the arenas, obviously, their TV deals aren’t the same. So as much as I advocate for women and the respect of their craft and all those things, you can’t pay them the same thing. But I do feel like there should be a little way to make a little bit more money for them because they are talented.”

Porter Jr. has been on a roll as of late. However, hopefully, as red hot as he’s been in the news this summer, Michael will be the same on the court for the Brooklyn Nets when the 2025-26 season begins because performance will make everyone forget about the crazy things he’s said this summer.
