The City of Jacksonville in Onslow County is inviting residents and business leaders to a public open house on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Jacksonville City Hall, Meeting Rooms A & B, 815 New Bridge Street.

The event will give the community a chance to review and discuss the latest updates to local flood hazard and flood risk data, covering the city, its surrounding areas, and the Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ).

Attendees will be able to:

  • View results of previously appealed coastal flood maps for Jacksonville and portions of Onslow County
  • Ask questions about updated flood studies and the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)
  • Learn how to submit appeals or comments regarding the revised studies

Staff from the City of Jacksonville and Onslow County will be on hand to help residents locate their properties on the updated flood hazard maps and better understand their flood risk. Representatives from the North Carolina Floodplain Mapping Program will also attend to explain the data update process, answer questions about flood insurance, and provide guidance on floodplain management.

The event is free and open to the public, and all interested stakeholders are encouraged to attend.

The updated flood hazard data is also accessible online. Select the Preliminary tab to view appeal data and see whether your property is affected by the updates.
