Greg Biffle has hinted at a potential return to NASCAR’s biggest stage while also expressing interest in facing off against YouTube star and racer Cleetus McFarland.
Biffle, one of NASCAR’s most accomplished veterans, has reignited speculation about a comeback after hinting he would consider a return for the Daytona 500. Talking to the media from an alumni gathering at Darlington, he also teased a potential on-track showdown with McFarland.
NASCAR Legend Greg Biffle’s Daytona Dreams Still Alive
The 55-year-old Biffle, a former Truck Series and Xfinity Series champion with 19 career Cup Series wins, told Frontstretch that stock car racing’s crown jewel is the only race that still captures his interest.
Biffle said, “The only thing that really interests me most would be like Daytona 500. Running in that race, very prestigious event and very very difficult to get in. You know only four spots available so it’s a difficult race to get in but I think the Daytona 500 is definitely top of my list for running.”
The former Xfinity Series champion last competed full-time in 2016. Since then, he has made occasional NASCAR appearances in recent years.
His openness to a Daytona return underscores both his enduring passion for the sport and the challenge of qualifying for the Great American Race, which typically leaves only a handful of open slots for non-chartered teams.

Beyond Daytona, Biffle also turned heads by playfully calling out Lawrence Mitchell, better known as McFarland, a YouTuber and motorsports showman who has raced in some ARCA and Truck Series events.
When asked if he’d be interested in lining up against McFarland in a race, Biffle was quick to embrace the idea.
“Yeah, I mean, I would,” Biffle said. “I think I said that earlier. I mean, I’m looking forward to the chance to get to race against him and, Arca or the trucks or whatever. Hell, maybe I’ll ride with him, you know, and I’ll ride with him halfway. He could ride with me the other half.”
The thought of a seasoned NASCAR veteran like Biffle going wheel-to-wheel with McFarland highlights a fascinating blend of tradition and modern fan-driven energy.
For Biffle, it’s an opportunity to re-engage with racing in a fun, competitive setting. For McFarland, it’s a validation of his viral influence in bringing new eyes to the sport.
While no formal plans have been announced, Biffle has left the door open for now. Fans of both traditional NASCAR and Cleetus Nation will be watching closely to see if the challenge becomes reality.
