• When asked if he had decided to send National Guard troops to Chicago, the president was quick to respond with, “we’re going in.” He added soon thereafter, “I didn’t say when.”
• A federal judge has ruled that Trump’s use of the National Guard during Los Angeles immigration protests violates the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits military enforcement of domestic laws.
• Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., has filed a discharge petition to try to force a floor vote on requiring the Department of Justice to hand over files related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.
