Gary Oldman is back in the saddle in “Slow Horses” Season 5, premiering on Apple TV+ on Sept. 24.
The six-episode fifth season follows Oldman’s Jackson Lamb and his team of misfit spies as they investigate a series of bizarre events and terror plots occurring across London — and how it all might be connected to Roddy Ho’s (Christopher Chung) glamorous new girlfriend.
Season 5 of “Slow Horses” is adapted from “London Rules,” the next novel in Mick Herron’s award-winning “Slough House” book series. One episode will premiere each week on the streamer until the season finale airs on Oct. 29.
In addition to Oldman and Chung, “Slow Horses” stars Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Ruth Bradley, James Callis, Tom Brooke and Jonathan Pryce. “Ted Lasso’s” Nick Mohammed also joins as a guest star.
“Slow Horses” has become an Emmy magnet in recent years, racking up nine nominations for Season 3 (and one win) and five nods in Season 4. The series has already been renewed for Seasons 6 and 7.
The show is produced by See-Saw Films and adapted for television by Will Smith, the Emmy-winning creator who recently announced his exit from the series after Season 5. Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Douglas Urbanski, Gail Mutrux, Smith and Graham Yost serve as executive producers. Director Saul Metzstein, nominated for an Emmy for his work on Season 3, returns to helm Season 5.
