Raising Cane’s has experienced quite a growth spurt throughout the past decade or so, and broke into the top 20 restaurant brands by domestic sales last year.
Per Technomic data, Raising Cane’s finished 2024 at No. 18 with a 32% year-over-year sales increase to just under $5 billion. Its unit count jumped by nearly 14% year-over-year. To illustrate its recent growth, the chain was No. 46 in 2018 with $1.18 billion in sales and 400 locations, and expects to finish this year with nearly 1,000 locations.
Since then, Cane’s has leapfrogged legacy chicken players like Boston Market, Wingstop, El Pollo Loco, Church’s Texas Chicken, Bojangles, Zaxbys, and, last year, KFC.
Don’t expect the chain to rest on its laurels anytime soon. The company has a stated goal of breaking into the top 10, reaching $10 billion in sales, and opening 1,600 restaurants “in all major cities and new international locations around the world” by the end of this decade, as founder/owner Todd Graves recently outlined.
To support these ambitions, the company is moving into a new support center in 2026. The new office will be located on Legacy Drive in Plano, Texas, and will quadruple its current office space less than 2 miles away. It also has the capacity for “thousands” of support office employees, compared to its current 650 support office employees, the company said.
“We’ve always had an unconventional approach to growing our brand and at the center of it all are our crewmembers through our restaurant-first approach. We make it a point to reward, recognize and retain our crew through industry-leading programs, compensation, and benefits packages,” Raising Cane’s co-CEO and chief operating officer AJ Kumaran said in a statement. “We see ourselves becoming a top 10 U.S. restaurant brand by the end of the decade and are looking for exceptional crew — both at the restaurant and support office level — to join us on this journey as we continue building exceptional leaders across a variety of roles and functions.”
The new support center announcement comes as Raising Cane’s plans its entry into the United Kingdom in late 2026, with several locations initially planned in London. The company also plans to open a London Support Office and hire a president of Raising Cane’s U.K., along with several other executives to support the market’s growth.
Raising Cane’s opened a record 100 restaurants last year and plans to do the same again this year, ending 2025 with nearly 1,000 Restaurants in the United States the Middle East.
