The Lodge by Two Robbers makes hamburger heists tasty, with martinis that steal the spotlight.

The burger-and-martini joint is from the twin brothers behind Two Robbers Fishtown, founded in 2019 by Vivek and Vikram Nayar. Their vodka sodas and bottled spirits are the base for their crafted martinis, and gourmet burgers and sides are the perfect match for their drinks.

Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a professional athlete, local inventor Jay Ciccarone has created a tool to up your game-a Lycra-based weighted compression sleeve.

With the LaceUp sleeve, Ciccarone says you’ll burn more calories, increase your heart rate and build muscle. The sleeves are being used by everyone from volleyball and field hockey players to walkers and elite runners.

The sleeves have also shown surprising promise for people with neurological disorders like Parkinson’s Disease or Multiple Sclerosis.

Jay donates the sleeves to the Fighting Back Scholarship Program in Malvern, a non- profit that offers fitness training to individuals who are fighting back from traumatic injury, illness or disease.

Jay says he’s now working with Jefferson University on a study “to put some science behind the findings.”

He says his ultimate mission is to make people feel and perform better one weighted compression sleeve at a time.

Owners of Gazzos Steaks, Joe Lewis and Mike Lampson, opened their second brick-and-mortar in Ardmore over the summer.

The South Philly natives started with a food truck in 2022 as a weekend hobby when they moved to Pottstown to share the beloved Philly cuisine with the burbs.

With high demand for their one-pound prime rib steaks, they opened a brick-and-mortar in Pottstown in 2024.

This past Summer, the co-owners opened a second location that’s window service only with outdoor seating for quick take-out.

The two will continue to serve their beloved cheesesteaks along with new sandwiches like the Chicken Cutlet and their Roast Pork sandwich.

Joe and Mike hope to continue providing the Philly favorite to the suburbs.

Garris Fabric and Fashions owner Denise Garris is getting a boost for her legacy West Philadelphia business with a new storefront. Garris continues to sew what her parents started after buying the store from her father in 1981.

But the store did receive a free facelift thanks to the Storefront Improvement Program.

THIS IS PAID SPONSOR PARTNERSHIP

The Philadelphia Commerce Department partnered with different organizations, including the nonprofit ACHIEVEability, to improve the 60th Street corridor.

Garris’ business is the first of six being helped along the 60th Street corridor through the Storefront Improvement Program. You can celebrate with her at the grand re-opening of her business next week on August 20 at 11 a.m.
