September is National Suicide Prevention Month — a time to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and provide resources to those affected by suicide.

One of the groups leading the charge is the New York chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. They are preparing for their upcoming “Out of the Darkness” walk series, which take place over five weekends in September and October.

Candace Bravo, executive director of American Foundation for Suicide Prevention New York, joined “The Rush Hour” Thursday.
