Is Taylor Swift selling her Tribeca digs?

It started with a note from J.: “I heard Taylor Swift sold her Franklin Street digs for $48 million.”

She owns two floors (at least) of 155 Franklin, the Sugar Loaf building, and all of 153 Franklin, the three-story townhouse immediately east.

She first purchased the penthouse (it may be a duplex??) at 155 Franklin in 2014 (PHS) from filmmaker Peter Jackson for nearly $20 million. Then in 2017, she purchased 153 Franklin for $18 million. In 2018, she converted the former retail space into a two-car garage and also bought an apartment on the second floor (2N) of 155 for $9.75 million from Jeremy Philips, allowing her to connect the two buildings — or more specifically, connect her penthouse to her garage.

The city’s finance records do not show any sales at either of the addresses — so J.’s initial bit of gossip is not confirmed.

HOWEVER I walked over with a pal to see what the penthouse is called, just so I could better access the city records. And when we were there, three humungous black cars from Jersey pulled up and were met at Taylor’s door in 153 by a woman who — my instincts told me — seemed like a broker.

Anyway, that’s what I know. I’ll be sorry to have her leave the neighborhood — always seemed like a fun neighbor to have and of course she generated headlines upon headlines for more than a decade.
