One of San Antonio’s most well-known resorts is stepping into a new era under one of the hospitality industry’s most famous names. Hilton is now managing the La Cantera Resort & Spa. Starting October 1, the newly reminted Signia by Hilton La Cantera Resort & Spa will give guests access to the chain’s mega-popular Hilton Honors perks program.
The Signia brand, according to Hilton, represents hotel properties that promise “sophistication into every stay, offering the world’s best meetings and events, a vibrant atmosphere, exceptional amenities, and personalized service catered to the needs of today’s global traveler.”
The La Cantera Resort is the first Texas property to be added to the Signia by Hilton portfolio. As of writing, there are only four other hotels worldwide recognized as a Signia by Hilton property, with two more to come in 2026.
So what does the rebrand mean for guests? The Hilton Honors loyalty program lets frequent flyers rack up points at 8,800 properties in 139 countries and territories. Membership also includes discounts, free standard Wi-Fi, and contactless access to rooms using a digital key.

This spring, the Travel & Leisure-recognized property had its own The Summer I Turned Pretty moment with a $40 million makeover. The renovation involved King Ranch Estate-inspired upgrades to the property’s 496 guest rooms and 34 private villas, including the seventh, adults-only floor.
The food and beverage concepts onsite remain unchanged — guests can grab a cocktail from the Sire Bar on the lobby level, enjoy Tex-Mex at the poolside Primero Cantina, or enjoy Michelin-recognized cuisine at Signature. There’s also classic American fare at SweetFire Kitchen, more poolside grub at Grille 254, and boozy frozen cocktails at Topaz.
In other words, the hotel property’s name may now be a mouthful, but the Hill Country getaway’s trademark characteristics have remained intact. There are still sunsets to catch from the spacious outdoor terrace and facials to enjoy at Loma de Vida Spa, and golf rounds to enjoy at the La Cantera Golf Club.
“La Cantera Resort & Spa has been a beloved destination in the Texas Hill Country for more than 20 years, and we’re proud to lead its next chapter as a Signia by Hilton hotel,” La Cantera Resort General Manager Ben Turner said in a press release. “This partnership combines the resort’s rich heritage and upscale amenities with Signia’s signature hospitality, enhancing its reputation as a premier destination for sophisticated getaways and exceptional events in San Antonio.”
