SAN ANTONIO – A 52-year-old woman was taken into custody Thursday after police say she hit and killed a pedestrian on the Northwest Side over the weekend.

The hit and run happened back on August 31 at 12:38 a.m. at 2310 Babcock Road near the intersection with Wurzbach Road.

“Theresa McCormick was observed turning the corner of a gas station, striking a pedestrian that was walking through the parking lot, running her over completely,” San Antonio Police said on their Facebook page. “McCormick walked to the crime scene, saw the pedestrian in need of medical assistance and instead of rendering aid, she fled the crash scene.”

The victim sustained massive injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

McCormick has been charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid – Death.
