Colleyville homeowners will likely see a 12.7% increase in their property tax rate for the fiscal 2025-26 year after the City Council approved a resolution Aug. 19.

But the state’s increased homestead tax exemption, which Gov. Greg Abbott signed into law this summer, “helps offset this increase,” the City of Colleyville said.

The City Council will hold a public hearing for the proposed tax rate Sept. 3, and vote to adopt the budget Sept. 16. The total proposed budget is $94 million, including a $31.3 million general fund.

The proposed tax rate for 2026 is $0.311 per $100 of value assessed for tax purposes.

The city tax rate for the current year is 0.276 per $100 of assessed value for tax purposes.

The average homestead taxable value for 2025 is $705,492.

Sales tax collections for August (reflecting June sales) were up by 7.75% year-over-year and 5.01% year-to-date.
