Firefighters were battling a brush fire that prompted evacuation orders in Riverside County on Friday.
The Pyrite Fire was reported around 5:19 p.m. and was burning in Jurupa Valley, according to Cal Fire.
The brush fire burned over 200 acres and prompted officials to issue evacuation orders for zones JUR0031 and JUR0017.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
“Riverside County Fire / Cal Fire continues to battle the Pyrite Fire in Jurupa Valley, just south of Fontana. To allow fire personnel to attack the fire effectively, Sierra Avenue will be closed from Jurupa Avenue to Armstrong Road. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes if possible,” wrote the Fontana Police Department.
