Construction crews are gearing up to widen Highway 67/167 (Interstate 57) to six lanes, and that means some overnight closures are on the horizon.
Starting at 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, and running through 6 a.m. on Monday, June 30, all northbound lanes of Highway 67/167 and TP White Drive between North James Street and Vandenberg Boulevard will experience intermittent closures.
The same goes for the southbound lanes from 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, through 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9.
These closures will allow crews to perform essential bridge work, weather permitting.
In addition to these closures, expect periodic lane reductions to one lane in each direction overnight from Friday night, June 27, through Wednesday morning, July 2, and again from Monday night, July 7, through Friday morning, July 18.
Traffic will be managed with the help of police, message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage.
So, if you’re traveling through the area, be prepared for extended delays and keep an eye out for slower traffic speeds.
This project, part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program, aims to widen 2.5 miles of Highway 67 to six lanes between Main Street (Exit 9) and Vandenberg Boulevard (Exit 11).
It also includes improvements at several interchanges and the conversion of frontage roads from two-way to one-way.
