The Boomont Hotel is a spooky experience that opens September 5 at The Galleria Dallas.

DALLAS — Halloween is still almost two months away, but there’s a hotel in Dallas that’s eager to help guests get in the Halloween spirit. Maybe a little too eager.

The fictional hotel is the Boomont. It’s part of a new adventure called Boo, a spooky experience opening September 5 at The Galleria in Dallas.

“If you check in, we promise you will check out,” Boo co-creator Scot Redman joked.

Redman and his team, which also created Snowday, said it’s not a haunted house. So, then, what is it?

“Only the guests can discover that,” Redman said.

As the story goes, the Boomont was the first hotel in Texas with electricity.

Built by Mr. Boomont in 1901, it was the height of hospitality until, one night, guests mysteriously disappeared.

“The hotel unfortunately closed, but we have discovered it and reopened it over 100 years later,” Redman said.

Some elements of the story might give guests goosebumps, but it’s meant to be spooky, not scary.

No blood, guts, or gore to be found.

The Boomont features 13 rooms that tell a story. Guests move through the space at their own pace, explore the rooms and get lost in the story.

“There are 13 different rooms, but there are thousands of moments to see,” Redman said.

In other words, make a reservation and you’ll have a hauntingly good time.
