SAN ANTONIO – The National Weather Service has issued Flood Advisories until 5:45 p.m. for portions of northwest Bexar County, western Medina County, western Bandera County, central Kendall County, and northern Val Verde County.

Meteorologist Joe DeCarlo said mainly cloudy skies will linger across the region Friday as a cold front pushes south and interacts with tropical moisture. The setup is expected to spark isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening.

While not everyone will see rainfall, storms that do develop could produce locally heavy downpours capable of causing flooding in low-lying or poorly drained areas.

Temperatures will vary widely across the region, with highs in the upper 70s for the northern Hill Country and climbing into the mid-90s farther south. Winds will be out of the east-southeast at 6 to 12 mph.
