A traffic light pole came tumbling down onto several people in Manhattan on Saturday mere hours before storms brought heavy rain and wind to the metro area.
The pole fell at the corner of Central Park West and West 81st Street shortly before 11 a.m.
According to fire department officials, four people were injured and transported by medics to Mount Sinai Morningside, a hospital about 20 blocks north of the crash site.
Video from the scene showed a couple lanes of traffic impacted by the downed pole and wires stretched across the road. Crews could be seen working to repair the damage of clear the road.
It wasn’t immediately clear what brought down the pole or the extent of everyone’s injuries.
