Gronk Picks Bucs To Win, Says He Broke Up With The Team
September 6th, 2025
Iconic retired Bucs tight end Rob Gronkowski says the Bucs were his side piece and they recently broke up.
Gronk, on his Dudes on Dudes podcast yesterday, said he’s a full-blown Patriots man again as of this summer. Does this mean Gronk moved out of Tampa? As of last year, he had business interests in town and was training in the past year with Baker Mayfield.
“My side piece team [Tampa Bay], but I just broke up with the side piece in the last two months and now I’m back to being a Patriot,” Gronk said. “I just re-married Patriot nation. … We grew apart. We’re still friends. We’re just friends now.”
It would be sad if Gronk felt he was losing some of his Bucs connection. Joe was a little surprised Gronk wasn’t a featured panelist/guest at the Buccaneers’ recent fancy preview of the team’s official documentary, especially with Tom Brady in the house. Perhaps Gronk’s comments explain why.
As for the Bucs tomorrow against the Falcons in Atlanta, Gronk had no problem aligning with his former team. He firmly picked the Bucs to win citing the sound foundation of the overall team and their firepower.
“The Atlanta Falcons, they’re all over the place,” Gronk said. “Tampa Bay Buccaneers, too good of a wide receiver corps as well. They’re going to put some serious points.”
