NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas — Three teens were arrested Sunday in connection with a shooting that killed one person and injured another, North Richland Hills police said.

Officers responded to a shooting call around midnight Sunday to the 8600 block of Airport Freeway in North Richland Hills, the department said in a press release.

A 21-year-old woman was pronounced dead on the scene and a 23-year-old man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Dallas police said.

Three 18-year-old men were arrested in connection with the shooting, police said. Detectives recovered what they believe to be the murder weapon and determined there was an altercation between several people before the shooting occurred, the release states.

Two off-duty officers were able to return fire at the suspects and provide medical aid to the male victim before the medic arrived.

Police did not immediately release the names of the victims or suspects.
